Founded in September 1987 with the purpose of replacing imports.
The dairy industry required affordable pulsators and automatic washers, these were designed and manufactured to the industries requirements.
Wood drying kiln controllers with complete electrical panels were then added to the range of products being manufactured.
The need for automation resulted in utilizing the Motorolla HC11 processor for designing a computer for a Tumble dryer controller.
In 1990 further development using the HC11 for use as a confectionary kiln controller was done as well as designing a Humidity sensor.
Continental Control becomes a (Pty) Limited, and purchases the present premises, 60 White road, Retreat.
Environment control becomes the main focus of the business for various industries,
Horticultural, Baking, Wood drying, Boiler control, data logging and Incubation among many others.
A joint venture with Denel results in the Prohatch range of Ostrich Incubators, many of which were exported to most of the continents of the world.
A by product of this was the Envirowatch controller, which was awarded an ETA award from Eskom.
In 2000 Continental Control was awarded Full BEE status.
Staff were trained to do Electrical panels for large Multispan greenhouses.
Further development of the Envirowatch resulted in the Miniwatch controller, a smaller version and finally using the Motorolla HC12 processor the present Enviro5 controller.
Having Full BEE status, gave Continental Control the advantage of being able to create partnerships with multi-national companies and to assemble and test Traffic controllers for municipal use. |
